Futurice to Open New Office in Oslo

Futurice to Open New Office in Oslo

Leading European digital innovation company Futurice is growing its reach in the Nordic market by opening a new office in Oslo. The new site will help Futurice’s existing and potential clients enter as well as expand their presence in the Nordics.

The ramp up of the new office will start immediately, and the full Futurice service offering is expected to be available in August.

Founded in Helsinki in 2000, Futurice now has approximately 500 employees and six offices in Germany, Finland, UK and Sweden in addition to the new Oslo site. The company has grown profitably for the last 14 years and has an international portfolio of clients that includes Telia, Fortum, Kesko, BMW, Volkswagen, E.On, Plan International and many more.

“Many of our key Nordic clients have significant business interests across Finland, Sweden and Norway. Having a local presence in all three markets makes us a better strategic partner for these companies, and also allows us to open the door into the Nordics for our clients based in Central Europe,” says Futurice CEO Teemu Moisala.

Oslo office launch will utilize best practices from the company’s Stockholm expansion

The Oslo office will be built by a newly appointed local Managing Director and ambassadors from other Futurice offices. The local MD will be Norway native Pål Werdenhoff. Pål has spent the last 8 years with Making Waves, the last 4 of which were at their Stockholm office.

“The Futurice culture with a high level of autonomy and passion for innovation will be a very attractive proposition to potential employees and clients in Oslo,” says Pål Werdenhoff.

“Similarly to Sweden, we know many Norwegian companies list digital innovation near the top of their agenda, but rigging the organisation and executing on it is tough. We see that we have found a concept that allows clients to start innovating and help drive that culture internally.”

The launch of Futurice’s Oslo office follows the same track as the company’s Stockholm office, which was set up a couple of years ago and currently employs nearly 30 people.

“We believe that the winning recipe for digital projects is a combination of motivated people, exciting challenges and happy users”, says Henrik Edlund, Managing Director for Futurice’s Stockholm office.

“Opening an office in Oslo is an exciting endeavor for all of us, and we look forward to collaborating in pan-Nordic projects together with Pål and the rest of the Norwegian team.”

Recruitment for people to work at the Oslo office will begin immediately. See our Careers page for open positions.
