Tampere screening of "CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap"

Code - Debugging the Gender Gap

Arthouse Cinema Niagara, B, Kehräsaari

It's a known fact that societies with greater gender equality fare better - on just about all metrics. There's no reason to assume the same wouldn't apply to smaller units - like your workplace.

If there's one job that can be seen as truly transformative at the present time and into the foreseeable future, it's the programming. Societies all over the world are engaged in the act of creating a future out of software. Who is the future for? The people engaged in building the future should reflect the people who are going to be occupying said future. Sadly this is not the case and the gender makeup of programmers is massively skewed to young men.

Something must be done to correct this and soon. Technology and the future belong to all mankind.

Join us for a screening of an award-winning documentary dealing with ways in which we can debug the world we are building. Sign up here.
