In between the abstract, inspiring and motivated starting point of a project, until every concrete outcome of the creative and co-creation process has been achieved, there are potentially big and invisible enemies that can trap the project in a big, deep dark hole.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Lake Tegernsee in Germany. It was a wonderful experience and a lovely and inspiring place. The weather was stunning, +28°C, there was bright blue skies and the smell of flowers filled the air.
Kicking off the first Design Thinking Meetup group in Hamburg, Germany.
I am a service designer. I never imagined I’d be doing what I do now when I started studying industrial design in the early 2000s.

How would you plan and execute a reorganisation of a large agile team? How long would/should it take? Would you rather plan it bottom-up or top-down? Or maybe both? How do you convince people to change roles, teams or tasks? What is your responsibility as a leader? As a team member?

Tools that we, designers, tend to use nowadays are naturally playing a significant role in our choice of frameworks and the design process.
Today, technology is an enabler to create services that truly improve our lives. The only limit we have is our imagination. Virtual reality as a technology has been around for decades, but only now we are beginning to unleash its endless possibilities. 2016 will be the year of seeing things in a new way; it will be the year when design will be set free for virtual reality. Virtual reality as a technology will reach consumer market, making the user experience even more important. With all the existing technologies, the experience immersion of physical and digital will be revolutionised. If you can dream it, VR can make it.
Transparency is one of the core principles here at Futurice, but achieving transparency on the company level gets harder as the company grows. One aspect of our business that was previously less transparent than ideal was the sales funnel. Salesforce accounts are available for everyone, but the average developer/designer is probably not going to check Salesforce each day to keep up to date with upcoming projects. This sparked the idea of creating a service that displays only the relevant data from Salesforce in an easy to use UI.
If we aim for real improvement and durable commitment in our design process we then don’t have to forget that values play a fundamental and hidden role in people’s lives.
We designed a responsive user interface for members and public audience which they can access both with desktop and mobile devices.
We find problems worth solving and the right technologies to solve them with. We design and build digital services people love using, because life is too short to build services no one wants.
