Women who code

Do you identify as a woman? Do you code? You are cordially invited to apply for work at Futurice!

We have a problem in the IT industry. There are not enough people, there is not enough diversity. Many commendable initiatives to ameliorate this problem exist, such as getting young girls to code and teenagers to consider going to higher education in programming-related fields. These efforts are all well and good, but take time to effect practical change in the industry in general and at Futurice in particular.

It is a fact that there are already a good number of women who can program, maybe you are one? Please apply.

At Futurice we value diversity in many aspects, such as field of study, country of origin, and gender. We don't hire for specific projects or for specific skills. We are looking for people with a general skillset in software consultancy. We need people who have an understanding of programming and computers, are excited about programming, and care about the end users. Check out our other job announcement Every tech position at Futurice. Ever. for a more thorough write up on what we look for in a candidate.

If you decide to apply below (and you should!), there is no expedited process, no lower bar, no quota or anything different from applying at the Every tech position at Futurice. Ever. page. In fact, feel free to apply there, too. We don't think women need any special treatment in the recruitment process. Instead we try to make it a smooth and pleasant experience for everyone, whether we end up working together or not.

In conclusion: This is not a new open position. This is not a special program. This is an invitation, pure and simple. Futurice is a great place to work and we'd love to talk about you possibly joining us!
